Report from the Dominican Republic

Rev. George Teachman recently had the opportunity to minister to communities throughout the Dominican Republic. God moved powerfully during these meetings and both young and old were saved, delivered and healed through the power of the Holy Spirit. Below are just a few of the highlights from his report.

"We arrived and the people were greatly awaiting a move of God. For over a month the church had been having prayer meetings early in the morning in anticipation of what God was going to do. When I started to minister, the electricity went out. Whoever had their cellphones turned them on so we could have a little light but this did not stop the Holy Spirit from moving upon the people! Literally every person came up for prayer at the altar call. Many visitors gave their heart and life to Jesus Christ that night!

There was a couple who came up for prayer. When we asked them what they wanted God to do they responded “Only God knows”. The Lord had already showed me their need and when I told them what their need was and what God was going to do, the woman was shocked and immediately fell under the power of God, praising Him for answering their prayers.

A young man, who was the leader of the local youth, was the worst drug addict in the area. Jesus delivered him from his cocaine habit! We were able to give this young man, along with 37 other new Christians, a Bible!

When we got to the city of Santo Domingo, we found out that they were having a large street meeting. We asked the host Pastor if we could speak to the people. We did briefly, and when we went back to worship with the people, the host Pastor came over to us and said: “It is no coincidence that you are here tonight. The invited preacher just called and told us his car broke down and he can’t make it tonight. God has sent you to preach the Word of God to us!”

We  had a chance to visit the largest prison in the country. There were thousands of prisoners in the yard, hallways and cells. We started testifying to large groups of prisoners. They started asking for prayer so they could dedicate their lives to the Lord. 20 of us gathered together in the hallway and they all started seeking the Lord to have their lives changed!

The call for all people to come to repentance is going out and many are responding to the call!

God Bless,
Rev. Teachman

God Moves & Miracles Happen in the Dominican Republic!

Rev. George & Candy Teachman recently traveled to the Dominican Republic where they ministered to so many lives.  God moved mightily during their mission trip!  Below are just a few highlights of what God did!

On the Radio

We were invited to preach at a Christian radio station that has a very large following and transmits throughout most of the country.  As I (Rev. George Teachman) started to minister God's word, on the subject “Knowing Your Hour of Visitation,” the presence of God came down so strong in the room that you felt like you were in a cloud.  The calls for prayer started coming in so fast that time didn't allow us to pray for the people individually.  So we prayed together for all those that had needs and requested prayer.

One young lady was listening to the broadcast on her cell phone at work and God spoke directly to her life.  She left work and went straight to the radio station for personal prayer.  She was sitting in the waiting room when we left the broadcast area.  As we prayed for her, God's presence came over her.  We are lifting up Jesus’ name and He is drawing all men unto to Himself!

The Fire of God Falls at the Altar

We were invited to minister at Pastor Apolinaria's sister’s church.  The Holy Spirit fell so strong in that service that all the church members came up for prayer.  About six children received Jesus in their hearts as their Savior.  Some of these children could barely finish saying the sinner’s prayer when the presence of God would overcome them.

Many were receiving healing at the altar…

  • One lady was walking slowly; it was obvious she was in pain.  After prayer, she started moving her legs up and down and a smile broke out on her face as the Holy Spirit touched her.
  • Another lady, who had a large tumor that protruded out of her side, came forward believing God for her miracle of healing.  We commanded, in the name of Jesus, for this tumor to disappear.  Candy laid her hand on the lady’s tumor, and as she prayed, the tumor was continually shrinking until she couldn't feel it at all.
  • One woman got saved and then left the meeting to go home and get her family and friends.  She started bringing person after person to the altar for salvation.
  • One girl, who we prayed for, was bound and apparently involved in prostitution.  When she opened up her heart and life to Jesus, He gloriously saved her.
  • About a dozen people got saved that night.

One thing I like is that during the church services the doors and windows are open, and as the songs are sung, and the Word is ministered, everyone in the crowded neighborhood gets to hear the service.  And those that are hungry for God, come in and get saved!

The Holy Spirit Falls In the Park

Every Friday they have an outdoor revival meeting in a large, very busy, urban park in the city of Santiago.  We were invited to minister God's word there.  As we arrived, the people were singing and shouting and some were trembling under God’s power, which was falling upon a hundred or so Christians in the park.  As the meeting continued, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit became even stronger, and this brought many onlookers over to the service.  In every direction that I looked, people were being touched by the Holy Spirit.  This is what it must have looked like on the street of Jerusalem, on the day of Pentecost, when peter preached and over three thousand souls were saved.

Here, after you minister God's word, all the people usually come forward for prayer from the person who preached the Word.  The crowd was too large today.  Several other people were helping to pray for the salvation and healing of those who had come forward; the people kept coming and coming to receive prayer.  The Lord saved many souls today it would be hard to put a number on how many came to Christ during this altar call.

It is an honor and a great blessing for Candy and I to be here and to see so many lives touched.  Many have been transformed and received answers to prayer as we called upon the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, together.

God bless you,

Rev. George & Candy Teachman

Blog #3 - Dominican Republic Mission Trip Reports

Enjoy some more reports from Rev. George Teachman who is visiting the Dominican Republic...

In the Capital
We ministered 2 nights in a large, poor, rough neighborhood, just outside the capital.  This neighborhood is called Nigua and is notorious for being run by the local drug dealers.  The Lord had me preach very boldly and the Lord gave witness to His word by moving on the people during the altar call.  Many of the members were not used to the power of God moving in such a way, as most of them just started attending the church, and some were afraid to come forward for prayer.  The pastor encouraged them to come forward and receive what God had for them in the meeting.  Many young people came forward for salvation.  The pastor told us and all the people there that often times, and even very recently, the drug dealers have come into the church and tried to physically stop the pastor from preaching, and that he has been threatened several times and told to leave.  He told me he had prayed, that whoever came to his church must preach boldly, and he has been looking for a powerful manifestation of the presence of God at the altar. Exactly what the Lord revealed to him happened during these 2 nights of the meetings.

God Calls the Children
A large platform was set up in the street in a poor neighborhood near the capital of Santo Domingo.  ALL the Christians from the local church and a large group of people from the neighborhood had gathered for this meeting.  I ministered on the power of the Cross and the altar was filled with people seeking prayer.  My interpreter and I prayed for well over 100 people tonight.  At one point a large group of about 40 children crowded around us, tugging at us, and raising their hands to let me know they wanted prayer.  Many of these children who came up for prayer asked Jesus to forgive them of their sins.

The Lord is being glorified for the wonderful works He is doing.  A good report was shared by the pastor who has hosted us these 4 days.  He didn't know what to do with one of his churches.  He wasn't receiving any help from the members and little help from the church leader, which was leaving him very burdened.  But the way the Lord moved as we ministered His word has completely changed that church.  The people are all coming together to help him!

God Bless You,
Rev. George Teachman

Souls Saved and Bodies Healed!

God continues to move in the Dominican Republic.  Rev. George Teachman reports...

God Moves Upon the Doctors…
We were in the office of a Christian doctor that I know in the city of Santiago. At the end of the visit, we all prayed with her that God would bless her clinic.  We all know that God is pleased with the work that she is doing for those in need in her nation.

On another occasion, we were ministering in a service where a woman, who is a doctor, came up to us for prayer for her salvation.  She told the interpreter that she didn't feel worthy to come to the Lord.  We told her that she was worthy and that Jesus died for her personally.  She wept as we led her to Christ.  Her son also gave his heart to the Lord.  He was so overcome with joy that he started dancing to the music that was being played! That was his way of expressing the joy that he felt when he was in the presence of God at the altar.

The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit…
There is a group of 5 of us that have been traveling together and ministering to the people in different churches, on the streets and in homes.  Many people are telling us that as soon as we pray for them the Lord is healing them.  One woman asked for prayer for her back and stomach, which was in continual pain.  She told us that after we prayed all the pain was gone!

Another woman, who had a lot of pain in her breast and her upper back, was instantly healed.

Another Christian man from Haiti asked us to pray for him and the Holy Spirit came down on him very powerfully.  He started shouting in a loud voice and he was crying and shaking under the presence of God.

We give all the glory to God for healing the people, saving their souls and filling people with the Holy Spirit on the streets and in the churches here in the Dominican Republic.

And the Church Was Packed…
We are in a mountainous area, on the border of Haiti, called Restauración. The church we were asked to minister in was too small to accommodate all the people that came out to the service tonight. There was almost as many people outside the church, crowded around the open windows and doors, as there was inside the church building.  The people in this area are very hungry for God and His word.

The same thing happened tonight that happens in every service.  When the service was turned over to our team, the Holy Ghost started to fall upon the people.  Many of the people started rejoicing and trembling under the power of God.  As in many of the services here, the altar area rapidly filled up with large groups of people seeking prayer for salvation, healing, deliverance and their personal situation.  You could smell alcohol on the breath of one man who kept motioning to us to pray for him.  After we prayed with this backslidden man, that God would restore him, he was so full of joy that he wanted to hug us over and over again.  One pastor came for prayer for liver and back pain.  He had been in pain and hadn’t been able to sleep well and was having difficulty eating.  The Lord healed him immediately!  He went home, ate a full meal and came back to the next night’s service to give his testimony.  Every person, including the leaders of the church, were blessed and touched by God tonight!

Revival in the Park...
A one-night revival service was set up for us in the central municipal park.  Right across the street, there was a store which had a large television that was broadcasting a Dominican national baseball game (baseball is the national sport here).  There was a small group of men seated in front of this television, but there was a large group of people seated on the edge of the park.  There were people standing and the crowd continued to swell as the meeting progressed.  When the Holy Spirit started moving, many of these men, who were watching the baseball game, would turn around and watch what was happening in the meeting.

As usual, a large group of people came forward for prayer.  One lady, who was a principal of a local school, asked Jesus into her heart as her Savior.  Her eight year old daughter also accepted Christ at the altar call.  She told us that the next time we are in the area she would love to have us minister to all the students in her school for they are in great need.

Many, many people came to Christ tonight. And we all left this park full of the joy of the Lord.

God bless you from the Dominican Republic,

Rev. George Teachman is reporting from the Dominican Republic!

Enjoy some wonderful testimonies of how God is moving in the Dominican Republic...

REPORT 1 – GOD IS MOVING
God bless you from the Dominican Republic.  WE have been receiving testimonies of answered prayers from when Candy and I were here in November.  There is an elder of Pastor Apolinaria’s church who has had a heart condition for a long time.  Candy and I prayed for her at the altar, believing with her for a miracle.  She went to the hospital to have an electrocardiogram test to see how she was doing.  To the doctors amazement she was pronounced completely healed! She was also amazed and thankful to God.  Praise the Lord for his wonderful works.

There was another man who was a sergeant major in the Dominican Air force.  We ministered to him in one of the meetings in November.  This morning the Lord kept prompting him that he had to go to Muñóz, which is the village that pastor Apolinaria lives in.  When he arrived, he was surprised to see me there.  He said he had to testify of what God did for him through prayer.  He said he was bound by sin and the chains fell of that day.  His life completely changed.  He said his relationship with his wife has greatly improved.  His children, who had been having no communication with him, are now speaking to him.  He also told us that shortly after prayer they promoted him to the rank of major.  He said that he will be there to help us with anything we would need help with.  He also told us that every morning they have a prayer meeting and short message in the military building where he works, and that he was ministering God’s word to the general yesterday.

REPORT 2 – OUR GOD STILL DOES MIRACLES
We were asked to go to a home and pray for a sister who had just had a stroke.  When we entered the house, the husband told us she was not able to walk.  When we went into the room where she was, she told us that her left leg was totally paralyzed with absolutely no feeling in it.  As we prayed, the presence of God descended upon her powerfully.  After prayer, we asked her how she was feeling.  She took her right foot to touch her left foot and told us that she now had feeling in her foot and ankle.  She was very happy and we told her that this miracle that started would continue until she was completely healed. Jesus still heals the sick praise the Lord!

REPORT 3 – BE INSTANT IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON
We have been asked to minister in churches, in various city-wide revival meetings, and in streets revival meetings.  We were getting prepared to minister in a late night vigil service, which are very common here, when a brother came to the home that we were staying at.  He told us that they were having a revival service with a large group of people and the preacher never showed up.  They were asking me to go preach to the church right then.  We quickly got ready and went with them, and as soon as we arrived, they gave us the microphone.  After ministering what God gave me, large groups of people came to the altar for prayer.  10 children came forward for salvation and a large group of teenagers, mostly young men, also called upon the name of the Lord for their salvation.

REPORT 4 – FRIDAY NIGHT VIGIL IN ESPERANZA
We were asked to minister in a night vigil meeting in the city of Esperanza.  When I was in prayer in the US, God gave me a message for this meeting and showed me a woman in a black dress receiving a miracle.  He had me minister on the power of the name of JESUS and had led me to call this woman out and have the whole church call upon the name of JESUS, as she would be a demonstration of the power of the name of JESUS over all sickness. The woman we called to the front was a Haitian woman and ss we all prayed for her, the power of God took over.  She later told us that she had AIDS and that she was in constant pain and was burning day and night, but as we prayed she felt something flowing through her body.  After prayer, all the pain and all the burning was completely gone.  Her face was glowing and she kept praising the Lord, telling Him how much she loves Him for the miracle He had done for her.  I encouraged her to go to the doctor to get the full report that God has completely healed her from AIDS, so she can be His witness to the people.

God Bless You!

God continues to move in the Dominican Republic!

The Power of God fell upon the people

Pastor Apolinaria has set up a 3-night Campaign Meeting in her village of Muñóz.  We made 2 large signs, about 12 feet high.  These meetings have been advertized regularly on a Christian radio station. The sound of the music could be heard through the 10 foot high speakers, which were next to the platform.  A large crowd gathered to worship God and hear the word of God ministered.

After the word of God was shared, only a few people answered the altar call at first.  It only took a few minutes for others to flood the altar, seeking God for salvation, healing and deliverance.  There were eight of us praying for the people; myself, Candy, the interpreter, Pastor Apolinaria and 4 evangelists. People were making lines, waiting for prayer.  There was a group of 25 children, from the ages of 5 to 10, looking for salvation. The Lord touched every child gently by his Spirit and they fell to the ground under the power of God.

A 13 year old boy was brought to the altar by his mother.  He had been blind from birth.  He had areas of hardened skin under his eyes.  When the evangelist prayed for him, scales fell off from his eyes. God healed his eyes instantly and he was able to see clearly! He identified how many fingers that were put up several times.

Hundreds came to the altar. Brother Rafeal stopped counting the people coming for salvation after number 40.  So many people flooded the Altar that we could not even see an end to the people.  The anointing of God was so present that many were delivered, including one girl who was only about 8 years old.  The Lord surely came down in His power tonight to do a work only He could do. We all left walking down the road to the Pastor’s house, full of joy, rejoicing over all the mighty works the Lord had done.  We are looking forward to the next 2 nights, with great expectancy to see what our GOD will do!

God Bless,

Reports from the Dominican Republic...

God is moving the Dominican Republic!  Rev. George & Sis. Candice Teachman report…

They shall lay their hands upon the sick and they shall recover
In one service, the Lord told Candy to touch one man’s shoulder in prayer.  As she prayed, his bad shoulder was instantly healed.  He had been suffering from pain in his right shoulder for years. When he was healed, he wept under the power of God.

We went to pray for the people in their homes.  In the first house we went to, both the husband and wife, who had been sick, received healing as we prayed.  The next home was the home of Pastor Apolinaria’s father.  He requested prayer for God to heal his eyes.  We had him try to identify an object, which was a candle from 4 feet away. He couldn't identify it. He said he thought it was a coin.  After prayer, we asked him again to identify the object.  This time, he saw the object was a small candle.  The vision in his right eye immediately improved.

We are having a large 3-day campaign meeting.  A woman had been praying because she was experiencing bad pain in her stomach and could not attend the meetings.  Her heart was to go.  After prayer, she told us that her stomach was healed and she could attend the meetings.

God moves upon the youth
When we came into Pastor Apolinaria’s house this morning, 2 young neighbors were receiving prayer.  A young man was being restored back to God, and a young lady was calling upon the Lord Jesus for her Salvation.  Tears were flowing down her cheeks.

In one of the city churches that we ministered in, God moved powerfully upon the young people.  About 20 of these young people gathered together after the altar call and the Holy Spirit started ministering to them through the young evangelists traveling with us.  They were crying, trembling and dancing under the power of God.  These young people were being charged to live holy in this ungodly world and the Holy Spirit really set them on fire.

Souls are being saved
The Lord has assembled a team here to evangelize the people with us. He revealed to me that I needed to ask another young man, who is an evangelist, to join us.  God had already spoken to him, and he had already asked his Pastor for permission to join us before we had even called him.  When we called him, he started shouting, knowing it was the will of God.  This young man is on fire for God.  He grew up a satanist and was pronounced dead for 3 days after being electrocuted. God raised him up and has called him to preach the Gospel.  He was preaching on the bus and 2 people got saved.  The bus driver stopped the bus and cried out loudly, “I NEED THIS JESUS.”  The Lord saved him gloriously.  When we picked him up at the bus, he was preaching with a megaphone to a large crowd in the center of town.

These young evangelists have been such a good example to the young people in Pastor Apolinaria’s church.  This is an answer to her prayers. The young men are getting on fire, following their example.

God Bless,

More reports from the Dominican Republic

 Rev. Teachman reports...

Visiting rural areas in the mountains

We went high up the mountains, on a rugged dirt road, to visit two impoverished villages.  Along the way, there were groups of men picking potatoes and carrots on the steep hills.  These vegetables will be sold throughout this country and will also be shipped abroad.  We handed out lollipops, toys and clothes to the children.  Their faces lit up as they received their gifts.  There was a swarm of flies in one of these villages, but the joy of blessing the children far outweighed any slight discomfort we were feeling.  We sang songs together and prayed with each child individually before we left.

Revival Meeting on the street

A meeting was set on the sreets of a local neighborhood.  Old wooden seats were placed in the middle of the street.  People were sitting on their porches and on the cement curbs.  Women were also sitting with their children in the doorways of their homes.  I ministered a very strong message about Jesus being the only way to salvation.  Many people came forward for prayer to be healed and for salvation.  The same thing keeps happening time and time again as we pray for the sick…they tell me that they are immediately healed.  One woman had pain all through her stomach and she told us that the Lord healed her.  Another man had constant back pain and he told us that he also was healed.  We had him bend and twist his back to see if there was any more pain.  All his pain was gone because Jesus Christ had healed him.

God’s presence comes down like a cloud in the house

It was raining steadily so our outdoor revival meeting was cancelled.  We went to minister at a house where many people were new Christians and others were not saved.  Neighbors were also invited.  In all, there were about 25 people in the house, and about half of them were children.  The power and presence of God became very thick in this house. We ministered God’s word and prayed with everyone there.  Those that were unsaved gave their lives to Christ.  A neighbor, who was the first one to get saved, was crying and holding onto one of her neighbors as the love of Jesus filled her heart.  She told us after, in tears, that she had breast cancer and that she was in pain and always felt the pressure of the tightness the cancer in her breast.  She said that she spent much money on doctors but felt no better.  She told us that as we prayed, all the tightness and pain left and she knew that the Lord healed her.  We told her to be like the one man in the Bible that, when Jesus cleansed the 10 lepers, he came back to give Him praise.  She immediately lifted up her hands, crying and praising the Lord for the miracle that He had given to her.

Many of the people in this area are very humble and very hungry for a move of God.

God bless you from the Dominican Republic.

God Is Moving In the Dominican Republic!

Rev. Teachman is reporting from the Dominican Republic...

Revival meetings in the mountains

We were invited for 5 days of revivals meetings in a city in the mountains called Constanza.  This is a very beautiful area with fields of vegetables everywhere.  A local business that sells chickens has donated its land for the first two nights of meetings.

The Holy Spirit fell in tonight’s meeting in a powerful way.  The power of God was falling upon the singers as they sang, upon me as I ministered and prayed and upon Brother Rafael as he prayed at the altar call. The Lord called many people to Himself tonight, as about15 people either were saved or restored back to Him.  When we prayed for the sick in the name of Jesus, the Lord healed them immediately.  One man had a serious problem with his spinal column. When he picks vegetables in the fields, as many others here do, he has been in such agonizing pain that often he can not get himself off the ground.  He went to Pastor Rolando’s church for prayer on Sunday and came back with his family tonight and told us that after prayer all the pain was gone.  He was rejoicing and praising the Lord for the miracle that he had received.  His whole family received prayer and many of them were lying on the ground and weeping under the presence of God. God is truly being glorified here for the wonderful things that He is doing.  He is showing His love and mercy to all that are calling upon His name.

He opens the eyes of the blind

There was a man in his 70's who was totally blind.  He lived daily in darkness.  He was helped down to the altar by a brother from the church, and he was walking using his cane.  As we prayed for him, the Lord showed me that his optic nerve had deteriorated, and the Lord touched his nerve! The joy of the Lord was filling this man.  After prayer, I asked him how he was doing.  He told me that he could see both me and Brother Rafael.  He couldn’t see us clearly, but he could now see. We told him about the man in the Bible who, when Jesus touched his blind eyes, started to see but it wasn’t fully clear and in a short period of time his vision was fully restored.  We told this man to continue to walk in faith and that we would keep him in prayer that he would be able to see completely clearly.  Praise the Lord for all His wonders!

It is such a joy for me to minister to the people of the Dominican Republic who serve the Lord with such a passion and love Him so much.  We ministered in one of Pastor Apolinaria's churches in Imbert.  This small church was packed and it was quite hot and humid.  After ministering, every member of the church came forward for prayer.  Over half of the members had headaches.  Many others had problems with their backs.  All of the people that we asked how they felt, after prayer, told us that they were completely healed!  The Lord is gloriously saving souls and healing his people here in the Dominican Republic.

Outdoor Revival Meeting

People arrived at the outdoor revival meeting tonight by all different modes of transportation; some came on foot and others by car and some whole families came on motorcycles.  Many people came to tonight’s meeting that did not attend the first night.  You could hear shouts of “Aleluya” and “Santo” (which means Holy) as the presence of God descended on us.  Many individuals and entire families were seeking the Lord for salvation, to be healed, and for deliverance.  God answered prayer as many lives were transformed at the altar.

One man brought his teenage son who was crippled.  This boy’s hands and feet were twisted up.  He could not speak but he could hear and understand.  His wheelchair was placed in the front row and we knew that God was going to move upon this crippled teenager.  He was first ministered to for his salvation.  When he asked Jesus into his heart, a huge smile came over his face.  Together we prayed that God would give him a miracle.  As Brother Rafael laid his hands on his grossly twisted left foot, which had never moved, his foot was immediately straightened out!  Brother Rafael told me that this foot was very tightly balled up before the Lord touched it.  He had a look of amazement on his face as the Lord was touching him.  God has started a healing process in this young mans life to be a witness of the power of God in this city.  His father, who brought him to the meeting tonight, received the Lord Jesus as his savior!

God is saving souls in the Dominican Republic!

Ministering at the Branch Churches
The pastors that God has had me working with, down here in the Dominican Republic, are all birthing new churches.  Pastor Jimmy Rodriguez, my interpreter’s pastor, has just started a new church in the city of Santiago.  They have no building, but they hold their meetings in a street next to the home of a sister in the church.  There is an open field next to this home and they are believing for God to supply the funds so they could purchase this land and build a church there.

In the meeting tonight, the presence of God immediately took over.  The Lord was pleading with people to hear His call for salvation.  After I ministered, 8 people responded to this call, giving their lives over to Christ.  Jesus faithfully saved every soul when they called upon His name.  We are all rejoicing here for the great things the Lord is doing.

We were also invited to minister in an open field where the people are believing that God will give them a church building too.  This is in a rural area, a little distance from the city of Santiago.  About 60 chairs were set-up for the first outdoor revival meeting they have ever had in this area.  These chairs filled up very quickly, and other people were standing.  God’s presence fell powerfully, as it has been doing in all of the other meetings.  At the altar call, 13 people gave their life to Christ.  Our God is doing a quick work in bringing many people to himself and preparing them for his soon coming.

Into the Mountains to Minister
We were invited to a cool, mountainous region of the Dominican Republic called Constanza.  The road to get into this area has an incredible amount of sharp curves and steep hills.  There are farms everywhere here and the temperatures dip into the 30’s at night because the elevation is close to 6,000 feet above sea level.  One of our night meetings here was on a dirt road in front of a small local market where a large group of people gathered to hear God’s word.  There were more children than adults in this meeting.  Every seat in the front row was filled with children.  In one seat, 3 children huddled together because it was quite cold.

I preached tonight about how God’s call upon Samuel’s life began as a child.  Every child in this meeting wanted prayer.  14 of them asked Jesus into their heart as their savior, and 7 adults also repented and turned their life over to Christ.

We are getting many invitations from Pastors in various regions of the Dominican Republic to minister in their churches and in large revival meetings.  We are so thankful that God is dealing in so many lives and calling so many people to the foot of the Cross.

God bless you from the Dominican Republic

Report #3 - Dominican Republic

GIVING FOOD TO THOSE IN NEED

When I was here with Candy (my wife) in November, there was a flood that destroyed many homes.  Today, we went out to visit two of the areas that the flood had affected.  We purchased and distributed food to thirty eight families in the hardest hit areas, where many homes were totally destroyed.  The Dominican government has placed many of these families in apartments, but the need continues to be great here, and the people are always thankful for any and all help they receive.

HAITIAN VILLAGE

We also went to one of the Haitian villages near Pastor Apolinaria’s Church.  As we started ministering personally to the people sitting outside of their homes, God started speaking to their hearts.  In the relatively short time that we had to minister, 14 people received prayer.  Some received prayer for their salvation, some gave their life back to Christ, and others wanted God’s help to make the right decisions in life.  Even though we minister as a group in 3 languages, English, Spanish and Creole, there is a wonderful unity among us.  We are all led by the precious Holy Spirit.

GOD’S HEALING POWER

There was a woman, who wanted prayer, in an area where Pastor Apolinaria has started a new church.  This woman told me she had breathing problems and feels at times like she is suffocating.  She was also suffering from back pain. She told us, after prayer, that all the pain left her back and her breathing was perfectly normal!  God is being glorified here for all the wonderful things he is doing!

God Bless you from the Dominican Republic,

More Good Reports from the Dominican Republic

God's Presence Visits the Radio Station
We were invited to minister on a radio program for 2 hours. We were like tag team preachers. We had 3 Dominican pastors and evangelists, 2 Haitian pastors, a church leaders, myself, and Brother Rafael, our tremendous interpreter. When the Dominican evangelist started to talk, the presence of God came into the room so strongly. God moved on the pastors in that radio room.

At the end of the broadcast, God's presence spread to the waiting room. People were trembling, crying, hugging each other and tears were flowing.

Preaching At the Outdoor Market
Today we went to preach at 2 market places. At one market place, the Haitian pastor was preaching the Gospel under the anointing of God. When he called the people forward for personal prayer, over 20 people rushed forward. The whole group, together, sought the Lord for their salvation. Tears were flowing down their faces.

The Sick Are Healed
Nine of us walked through the bustling city of Santiago for one and a half miles to pray for a young lady named Anna. She had not been able to walk without the aide of a walker, not even one step, for the last 3 years. Her body was slightly twisted. She has a young family and her face shows the pressure she lives under. Together, the nine of us continued to pray for her and worship God. God touched Anna and she got up out of the bed and started to walk, unaided, across the room.

She was battling fear in her mind. We continued to pray. Her whole countenance changed. Tears fells down her cheeks and a smile came across her face. She got up again and walked, one more time, across the room. Her husband came in the room and gave his life to Christ. While this was happening, her friend also came in the room and gave her life to Christ. We are definitely in the last days where God is pouring out His Spirit and doing signs and wonders among HIs people.

Visiting Other Cities
We have been receiving invitations to minister in cities that I have never visited before. We were in one church, in Esperanza, and you could tell that the pastor wanted a move of God, but many of the people in the church were bound and not lifting their hands up to worship God. It wasn't long until the Holy Spirit came down and changed all that. 5 souls came for salvation and the Lord spoke to many others, setting them free to worship Him.

The next church we visited was the same way. Once again, God came down in the service, visiting us with His presence and His word. Each person in this service came for prayer. Once woman's back was immediately healed. Those who sat in their seats, not entering into the service, were touched mightily by God at the altar. In every service, every person who was not saved came to Christ for salvation. The Lord is truly gathering in His harvest.

God bless you!

Good reports from Rev. Teachman!

Rev. George Teachman has sent us these great reports from the Dominican Republic.  Let your faith be stirred as you read about the miracles that God has performed!

Campaign Meeting
We were invited to preach at a baseball stadium on January 1st.  Buses had brought people in from different areas of the country.  It had been raining on and off all day.  The clouds were getting darker prior to the meeting.  There was a circle of about 200 people praying.  It started lightly raining, and people were walking all over the field in prayer that God would move these black clouds which were in every direction.  A rainbow appeared, not just once but four times.  After about 45 minutes of intense prayer, the clouds departed and our meeting started.

God gave me a very strong message that His people have to live a holy life, totally separated from the world, if they want Him to use them in this generation and to be prepared for the Lord's soon coming.  One Haitian man couldn't wait for the altar call.  He was weeping and crying his way through to salvation long before the altar call was given.  At the end of the preaching, the people flooded the altar seeking God for salvation and healing.  Souls were getting saved gloriously by the blood of our Savior Jesus Christ.  One man reported that God had healed him from epilepsy.  Tonight it felt like the Heavens had come down upon us.

Street Evangelism
The Christians, here in the Dominican Republic, remind me of the disciples in Jesus' day where they preached every where they went.  We were at a car wash, and one man that we ministered to asked Jesus in.  God had at one time spared his life, and now he had saved his soul.  One woman asked Jesus in as her Savior in the bus station.  As the Gospel was ministered on one street corner, the Presence of God started falling.  Several people asked Jesus to save their souls.

We went to a crowded, impoverished neighborhood.  There was a large group of both Haitians and Dominicans outside, listening.  I ministered the Gospel of Salvation in English, being interpreted in Spanish.  Then Pastor Leonce minsitered in Creole.  When he called the people to come forward for prayer, about 12 Haitians surged forward.  Each one of them asked Jesus in and God gloriously saved each person.

When I come here, every time you turn around, someone is getting saved, healed or God is doing something supernatural.  God bless you from the Dominican Republic

Letter from the Dominican Republic

We recently received a beautiful letter from Pastor Apolinaria Silverio of the Dominican Republic expressing her gratitude for Rev. George & Sis. Candice Teachman's visit in November 2012.  We'd like to share it with you today!

To: Pastor Kalinsky
From: Pastor Apolinaria, your sister and friend here in the Dominican Republic.

I thank God first for allowing Rev. George and Candy Teachman.  This trip was a great blessing because God really got glorified.  Rev. George and Candy were used very powerfully and a lot of people gave their lives to our great Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  People were saved, healed and delivered from their sins.  Others were healed completely with problems in their bodies but our Lord healed them all.

I am very happy for all of the blessings that you have allowed our great Lord to continue touching your lovely heart.  May God bless you and your family, always.  Have a very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Years.

Love, Pastor Apolinaria

Flood Ravages Two Villages

Recent heavy rains caused a lot of flooding in the Dominican Republic.  The Teachman’s share about 2 affected areas.

Flood Waters

The recent disastrous flood waters swept through the homes of almost all the members of 2 of Pastor Apolinaria’s churches in Montellanos and Imbert.  They have suffered tremendous loss. As the pastor of the Montellanos church brought us through the homes, each person told us the same story. On Friday evening the river rose from chest high in some of their houses to the top of the ceiling in others.

A home hanging over
 the edge of a riverbank

All that is left in many homes are a muddy floor and four walls. They look like small abandoned buildings. In most houses, the beds, couches, clothes, and cooking utensils were either swept away or are not usable. In one of the worst areas affected by the flood, 9 homes are hanging over the edge of the river bank. A little help is coming in the form of used beds, but the local politicians go by a list of who to help. Most of the Christians are being skipped. The pastor has been working tirelessly to help the people.  All of the people left homeless in his congregation are sleeping in the church.

Many people we talked to told us they know that God spared their lives and believe He can restore their belongings.

People's few belongings laying
in the street

The pastor of the Imbert church said that this stormed destroyed about 750 homes, 10 of which belonged to his church members. His house also flooded and, after getting his family to safety, he went from house to house helping to rescue other families.  Sunday’s church service was cut short as there were still a lot of families stuck inside of their homes.  The pastor went out with a couple of men to bring everybody to safety.

The pastor said he saw a lot of homes being taken by the river and that he had never seen anything like this before.

Please keep in prayer those affected by the flooding, that God would send the desperately needed help to restore these small homes and all the belongings that the flood waters either swept away or ruined.

God bless you,
Rev. George & Sister Candy Teachman

Highlights from the Dominican Republic

Rev. George & Sis. Candice Teachman shared these wonderful reports from their trip to the Dominican Republic.  These are just highlights of some of the things that God did!

They were invited to speak on a Christian Radio Station…
On the radio, the Spirit of God filled the room. So many people started calling in that all four phones were ringing. People with us started answering the phones. Even though people are in desperate need, they mostly want prayer for strength, more of God in their lives or salvation for unsaved loved ones.

We were asked to minister at a school in Santiago…
The principal brought about 300 7th, 8th and 9th graders out into a small courtyard to hear the word of God. Both the students and teachers got involved in this meeting. We talked to them about some of their Dominican heroes, such as the current major league baseball stars. We then ministered to them about our hero, Jesus Christ.

When we asked if anyone would like personal prayer, the first one to step forward was the principal. Then one of the teachers stepped forward. Both asked for prayer for healing of back pain.  After prayer, they were feeling better. They brought one young boy forward who had trouble walking without the use of a machine. As we prayed for him, the presence of God touched him so strongly.  He told us that he felt a burning inside of his afflicted leg that he never felt before. We told him that the healing power of God had begun to do a work in him.

As we left, the principal asked us to come back every time we come to her city. She said that they’ll get a larger place so all 500 students can hear the Gospel at once.

Home Visits…
Pastor Apolinaria took us to several homes to pray for the people.  The Lord moved in a powerful way.  Many people were set free by the power of God in several different homes. Glory to God for his great compassion upon the people. One woman, who was not a Christian, received prayer and was amazed as the lord immediately healed her. She was swollen and in pain and the swelling and pain left.

A paralyzed man, healed during a church service…
When the altar call was given, a man came for prayer who had been in a services accident. He was in a wheelchair, paralyzed, as the nerves had been severed from this accident. The presence of the Lord touched this man mightily. As all three of us, Candy, Rafael the interpreter and I were praying for him, we felt that the Lord was repairing the nerve damage and healing his legs, in which prior to prayer he had absolutely no feeling. After prayer we asked how he felt and he told us that he felt that the Lord completely healed him.  He said that he felt a fire burning in each of his legs and the only reason he didn’t get up and walk was that he felt the muscles were very weak from lack of use. We told him that shortly he will be walking, glorifying God and giving a testimony of His power.

Church Service in the Park…
For several years now God has been working through a man named Pastor Tomas. Every Friday, rain or shine, he has meetings in an urban park here in Santiago. The city government has tried to remove him from this park. The police have threatened him, but he has remained faithful to preach Gods word. People travel from other cities to attend these meetings, and others walk long distance to be there.

After I ministered the Gospel about salvation, a large group of people came forward for prayer. At least 15 people gave their life to Christ

God bless you and thank you for all of your prayers.

2nd Report from the Dominican Republic

Reaping the harvest!

We went to the children’s hospital in Santiago to pray with the sick children here. We ministered God’s word in each and every room. There are 8 beds to a room and there are between 4 and 10 family members per room. Most of the people wanted prayer for salvation. Mothers and fathers, together, were asking Jesus to become their Savior. Ladies were crying as Jesus forgave their sins. People who barely spoke English or Spanish were getting saved. We ministered in the waiting room, where about 15 people received Jesus.  So many people were asking for prayer that we had to break-up into 4 groups to pray for everyone.  God did a wonderful, powerful, supernatural work in the hospital today.

We were invited to speak in a mountainous area, in the center of a small town that I had never been to before. As we came into town, there were a few people dancing on the street to the worldly music that was blaring loudly. The presence of God came powerfully upon this meeting. It started raining heavily, but we were under cover in this outdoor meeting. In 2 other meetings, when it rained, we prayed and the rain stopped. This time the rain increased, causing all the people to find cover under the area where we were ministering or across the street with the other music. Most of the people chose to crowd into our meeting. After we ministered the Gospel, the people flooded the altar call. We prayed for a large number of people, from the young to the old, seeking God for salvation and healing. The anointing came upon me very strong as we continued to pray for person after person. The Lord started doing physical miracles for the people.

God is moving in the Dominican Republic!

Rev. George & Sis. Candice Teachman are currently in the Dominican Republic doing minsitry work.  They sent this wonderful report that we just had to share with you!  We know you'll enjoy it!

Pastor Apolinaria told me she has just opened another church in a village outside of the town of Imbert. Her current church in Imbert, of which the members are all Haitians, is full.  The people crowd into the small packed church to sing praises to God in Creole, their native Haitian language. This new daughter church, which is only a few months old, has 7 members coming faithfully to all the meetings. Pastor Apolinaria has two sisters helping her with these meetings and ministering to the new converts when she is not able to make it. When we arrived, the pastor had a wonderful meal waiting for us which would be the Dominican equivalent of an American Thanksgiving. She told me that she took up a special offering in her church and that all her members gladly gave to provide this wonderful meal.

About 1 month ago, I was driving into Hartford on a Friday night when a tractor trailer immediately came into my lane, coming within about 1 foot of crushing me. God miraculously delivered me. When I told this to my interpreter, Rafael, the Holy Spirit came upon him powerfully. He said that just before that date, his pastor and whole congregation were in a 4-hour prayer meeting when God gave a vision to his pastor, Jimmy.  It was a vision of a large truck hitting my truck and crushing me on the highway. He had the whole church pray for me for a long time until the Lord gave him another vision of me being spared. Right after I narrowly escaped that accident, the Holy Spirit spoke to me that I was spared because He had someone praying for me. I didn't realize he had a whole church praying for me about that exact situation. Praise the Lord for His mercy.

Rafael’s pastor, Jimmy Rodriguez, gets up daily at 3:00AM to have prayer meetings in his church. Between 3 and 10 people attend these meetings.  Because of the volume of prayer in his church, in many of his meetings the Holy Spirit takes over with people trembling under the power of God and dancing in the Holy Ghost all over his church. God also had called him to start a new church. He told me that recently he had his first meeting and 18 souls came to Christ. God is moving in powerful way through these dedicated servants in Dominican Republic.

In our Sunday night service the Lord set me on fire. The interpreter could barely continue to translate at one point. He said he felt the fire of God burning inside of him and the presence of God kept overtaking him. God had me warn the people, in the Holy Spirit, to stay in prayer and watch their children closely; that violent acts would he happening in their village shortly. Less than 1 hour after this meeting the police were called and lights were flashing outside of the pastor's house as one of her neighbors attempted to stab his wife to death. If we stay in prayer, the Holy Spirit will continue to warn and protect us. In this meeting, the Holy Spirit was falling upon the people powerfully. Children fell-out under the presence of God at the altar. Several young people, who were backslid when I was there in March, were back in church, established and working for God.

We are all full of joy here tonight. God bless you from the Dominican Republic.

God is moving in Dominican Republic!

We were asked to preach at a large public park in the city of Santiago. The presence of GOD was coming down so strong that six people came to CHRIST before the preaching began. They would stand next to a Christian and start crying. One woman came to us and told us she had a demon but she had being praying to GOD that she would meet Christians to pray for her. We prayed for her and the Lord both delivered her and saved her. Her countenance changed from a strained look to being full of joy and peace. At the end of the preaching nine more people gave their lives to Christ. Almost every one of them repented with tears flowing down their face. A sister in one of the churches we are working with asked us to come to her house and pray for her sister. She was backslidden. She had become paralyzed and had called several people to her house that practiced witchcraft. They tried to restore her health to no avail. When we went to pray for her she gave her life back to the Lord and so did her daughter. We know that God will raise her up in his time.

We had set up a 2-night revival meeting. 80 posters were hung up around the city. We made a commercial and it ran on television for one week prior to our meetings. And a truck with loud speakers was going around the neighborhood announcing these meetings. The Holy Ghost came down like a fire. People were dancing, shouting, crying and rejoicing all over the open field. When the altar call was given the anointing got so strong that the power of God came upon each person immediately as we touched their forehead in prayer. 13 souls came to Christ, many of them were weeping as they prayed the prayer of salvation. Many pastors were present as well as members of their churches. Each one of these pastors was announced. It felt like we were ministering at a pastors’ conference. There were about 16 pastors present. So what God did tonight will spread to many churches in this city!

Pastor Apolinaria a few years ago started a church in a poor area of a nearby city about 15 miles from where she lives. All the members of this church as well as the pastor are Haitians. Through this pastor I met a Haitian pastor named Leon Leones. God has laid this man upon my heart to bless this pastors’ church with much-needed clothes and an offering, which he will use to buy food for the members of his church and their neighbors. He told me that the Lord had given him a vision of this, and it would happen the next time we met. This pastors’ church in Haiti is so full that the 200 members cannot sit inside the church. They all have to stand packed together, and when the Holy Spirit falls it becomes a problem for those trying to worship freely in the Spirit. It also makes very hot conditions hotter. This pastor told me that people keep coming to the feet of Jesus. This pastor was a pediatrician; he worked for a large international organization. He was wealthy, had a large home, farm, and a nice car. The Lord saved him and he felt the call of God to forsake all his wealth and his profession to fully obey the call of God. He said that there is a great amount of people who practice voodoo in his area. And people are getting delivered in his church all the time. One woman who was lame was healed as he prayed for her and now she is a faithful member of his church. This pastor has 7 children and a growing congregation, please pray that God provides the funds to enlarge their current building so the people have enough room to worship God freely.

We were asked to go to the local school to talk to the young people about the week before Easter. Here the people celebrate one week before Easter. Many of them go to the beaches; they go to the rivers and have parties. We took the opportunity to minister about the resurrection of Christ to all the students. I got them all involved in questions and answers session about Christ and everything that happened to Him and those He was with after the resurrection. The response they gave was wonderful. The students were warned to stay away from these parties. One director told us he was so happy we were there and always welcomes us back. He shared that ministering to the students helps all the students and the school.

Thank you for your prayers!
God bless you!!

More good news from Dominican Republic!

When I was in the Dominican Republic with Candy in December, Pastor Apolinaria had started a new church in a remote mountain area. She had about 6 members. We had a service in this new church and there were 24 people in church and over half of them were small children under the age of 8.  The church is a small building with a dirt floor. We read the Word of God by a flashlight.  They are going to start visiting all the local homes to invite everybody in their area to the services.  Instead of having one service per week they are going to have 4 services per week. Because of the price of the gas, the pastor cannot always be at the service but his assistant is building a house right next to the church, so he will be there to lead the congregation.  We brought several Bibles for the new Christians in this church tonight.

We had sent down a request to have a meeting in the school in Pastor Apolinaria´s village, because one of the sisters with us, Sister Evie is an evangelistic and she does youth meetings in many churches in the U.S.A.  All the teenagers were gathered with the teachers outside which was about 175 people all together.  She ministered and gave personal testimony, most of the youth were listening carefully to every word she said because she was talking to them right where they were living.  She had each person pray for their salvation and then God witnessed to us that many asked Him in their heart.  The young girls started to gather around her and ask her questions after the meeting.

God bless you!
